Smriti Mandhana Creates History, Becomes Only Indian To Score 100 In WBBL | Thunders Lose Despite Mandhana's Century

Smriti Mandhana Scores Century: India's women's cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana created history by scoring a century in the Women's Big Bash League match. Sydney Thunder's Smriti Mandhana scored an unbeaten 114 off 64 balls in the match against the Melbourne Renegades. With a strike rate of 178.12, Mandhana hit 14 fours and 3 sixes in her innings. Sydney lost the match despite Mandhana's fighting knock. 

She completed her century in just 57 deliveries. Mandhana's fierce batting skills were seen in the 18th over of the innings. She completed his century by scoring 4,6,4,6,2 off the her first five deliveries in the innings. Mandhana has become the first Indian player to score a century in the tournament.

Becomes the second player to do this:

Smriti Mandhana has become the second player in Australia to score a century in all three formats of the game. Australia's Alyssa Perry was the only one to have achieved this feat before her. Mandhana had earlier scored 127 off 216 balls during the day-night Test in 2021, apart from scoring 102 off 109 balls during ODIs in 2016. 

Mandhana had scored 102 off 109 balls during the 2016 ODI and 127 off 216 balls in the 2021 Test and then 114 off 64 balls in this T20 match. However, even after Smriti Mandhana's amazing innings, Sydney was unable to win this match. In reply to Melbourne's 175, Sydney managed to score 171 runs with the loss of 2 wickets within the stipulated 20 overs.
