IND vs PAK: Shubman Gill scored a blistering half-century but was lucky on a couple of occasions during his knock.
India and Pakistan are locking for the second time this month in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. While their first meeting happened at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, their Super Fours encounter is happening at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (September 10). While Rohit became the first batter in international cricket to hit Afridi for a six in the first over of an innings, Gill also took the attack to him forcing skipper to give him a short spell with the new ball. However, Naseem Shah's spell with the new ball was spot on as he hit the right areas and batters found it tough against him.
He almost got rid of Gill as he induced an outside edge off his bat but it do went to hand and instead went through the slip cordan with each fielder expecting the other to go for it. The video of the Pakistan's fielders brain fade moment has gone viral on social media.

Eventually, Rohit and Gill put on a 121-run stand for the first wicket. While the Hitman departed for 56 off 49, falling to Shadab Khan, Gill got out in the very next over, falling prey to Afridi's slower delivery. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul found themselves in the middle in a critical phase of the match before rain came in and covers had to be pulled on. There is a reserve day in place for this match.
