Shaun Tait announces retirement from all forms of cricket
New Delhi: Australian fast bowler fast bowler Shaun Tait announced retirement from all forms of the game at the age of 34.
The fast bowler finally had to give in to a long sustained elbow injury, which had cut short his international career.
Tait, who recently became an overseas citizen of India, called it quits on Monday morning.
Regarded as one of the fastest to have ever played, Tait represented Australia in 3 Tests, 54 ODIs and 21 T20Is. He was also the member of Australia’s 2007 World Cup winning squad.
Raw pace, a slinging bowling action always meant Tait was vulnerable to injuries. He was forced to quit firs-class cricket at a tender of 25. He was took an indefinite break from cricket in 2008 following injury troubles with his elbow.
Tait last represented Hobart Hurricanes in the 2017 edition of the Big Bash League.
