Shakib starts rehab to make a comeback from injury
After coming back to Dhaka from the Asia Cup to remove pus from his injured finger, Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of the action for at least three months due to a infection caused in his injured little finger
Bangladeshi star all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, currently suffering from an injury, is looking forward to make a comeback to international cricket as soon as possible, without having another surgery in his fingers due to infection. The unbearable pain and the swelling in his finger during the Asia Cup 2018 forced Shakib to withdraw from the tournament.
"The update is good. The infection is under control. But it has to be checked every week through blood tests, whether it gets aggravated or if there is any other problem. But for now, infection is under control," Shakib told Cricbuzz upon his return from Australia.
After coming back to Dhaka from the Asia Cup to remove pus from his injured finger, Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of the action for at least three months due to a infection caused in his injured little finger. The star Bangladesh all-rounder then had to wait for another long three weeks to undergo a surgery on the finger.
To remove pus from his injured finger, an emergency procedure was carried out but it was an infection due to which his was ruled out of action for at least three months.
"[Another] surgery can't be possible for six to 12 months. There is a risk.. the infection may be in the bone and if the surgery is done there are chances of it spreading. So, for sure, I can't do the surgery in six to 12 months," he added. "But the good part is I can play without surgery. As I can't undergo a surgery right now, both physio and myself are thinking how I can manage to play without surgery."
