Sandeep Sharma Deletes Tweet Critical Of ‘Internal Matter’ Logic; Irfan Pathan, Manoj Tiwary Go Against The Tide
SunRisers Hyderabad bowler Sandeep Sharma had put up a tweet on Thursday which was critical of the #IndiaAgainstPropaganda stand taken by Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and other cricketers. He took down the tweet hours after putting it up. Pathan and Tiwary also vaguely hinted at their discontent. Your thoughts?
IPL star, Sandeep Sharma of SRH who had played for Kings XI Punjab decided to pull off a tweet that he posted on Thursday in response to the plethora of tweets which came in support of the government. #IndiaAgainstPropaganda and #IndiaTogether was trending on Twitter after players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and others wrote supporting the government’s stand after tweets came in from international celebs like Rihanna, Greta Thunberg, etc. Sandeep had written: "By this logic no one should care about each other because every situation is someone’s internal affair." This tweet was posted with an image citing examples of serious matters which cannot be ignored by giving an explanation of being an ‘internal matter’.
Twitteratis started lauding Sandeep for his tweets when he took down his tweet. Although many fans still lauded the ‘efforts’ and ‘spine’ displayed by the fast-bowler.
Apart from Sandeep, Irfan Pathan and Manoj Tiwary also had their opinions to give on the matter. Although both of them made sure that they did not take any names, it was evident in their tweets that they both were speaking against the popular tide of #IndiaTogether.

Manoj Tiwary wrote: “When I was a kid, I never saw a puppet show. It took me 35 years to see one Smiling face with smiling eyes” He hinted that the comments made in the respect of farmers protest were controlled and thus using the metaphor of a puppet show.

Irfan was a little clearer than Tiwary. “He said When George Floyd was brutally murdered in the USA by a policeman, our country rightly expressed our grief. #justsaying” Here, Irfan hinted at the ‘internal mater’ issue without really naming it.

Later, on Friday he also posted an image symbolically critical of the role of the media.

These are politically charged times, and all the cricketers are making sure that they do not speak anything that would land them in trouble. Currently, Irfan Pathan is in the commentary team of the India vs England series.
