Rohit Sharma's Mother Kisses Son: A viral video shows Rohit's mother showering India's T20 World Cup-winning captain with kisses

India were crowned the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Champion on June 29 (Saturday) after their win over South Africa in a thrilling final in Barbados. There was a hardly a player of the Indian contingent that did not shed a tear. Once the emotions had settled down, there was an animated celebration from the players that went late into the night. Post the dramatic win though, there was a bit of an anti-climax as a hurricane delayed the champions side's homecoming.

When the Rohit Sharma-led side finally returned to India, it was a sight to behold. There was a fantastic welcome by fans and the airport authorities at New Delhi before a meet and greet session to celebrate the triumph with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Men in Blue then took another chartered flight from Delhi to Mumbai where Team India's aircraft received a water cannon salute. The team then to Marine Drive from where they took an open-bus celebratory roadshow to the Wankhede Stadium.

It was an unprecedented sight as nearly 3 lakh people gathered to catch a glimpse of the T20 World Champion side and join the celebration. Later, the T20 World Cup-winning side received a cheque of Rs 125 Crore by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at a felicitation ceremony at Wankhede. And now a viral video has shown that Rohit Sharma's parents were also there at the venue with the captain receiving a shower of kisses from his mother. He might be the skipper that lifted the T20 World Cup trophy but he is his son afterall.

Never Seen Rohit So Emotional Like He Was After That T20 World Cup Final: Virat Kohli

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, the man who also announced his retirement from T20Is along with Rohit and Ravindra Jadeja said that he has never seen Rohit so emotional like he had been after the T20 World Cup final.

"This is the first time in 15 years that I have seen Rohit show so much emotion. When we were climbing those steps (at Kensington Oval) he was crying and I was crying, When I was walking up the steps, we both were crying. For me, that's a very special memory from that day," Virat said at the felicitation ceremony in Mumbai.
