Rohit Sharma Takes Hilarious 'Lene Do Maze' Dig At Bangladesh Ahead Of 1st Test

Rohit Sharma was at his hilarious best in the pre-match press conference and took a dig at Bangladesh ahead of the 1st IND vs BAN Test.

The Indian men's cricket team will be back in action in two days time as they play their first match in 45 days. Captain Rohit Sharma will be back at the helm of affairs as India take on Bangladesh in the 1st Test of the two-match series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai set to begin on September 19 (Thursday).

The Test series all set to be an important for Team India as they look to seal a place in their third successive World Test Championship (WTC) final. While India have never lost to Bangladesh in the longest format of the game, the Bangla Tigers are fresh off a historic Test serious win over Pakistan- an opponent whom they completed a clean sweep against.

High on a historical performance, Bangladesh are confident of being able to beat India in India. However, India skipper Rohit Sharma has taken a hilarious "Maze Lene Do" dig at the Bangladesh cricket team. Rohit said that while teams tend to enjoy the idea of beating India in India, he will instead focus on what they need to do on the cricket field.

"Everybody wants to beat India. Teams derive a lot of fun in beating India. Lene do maze unko (So let them (Bangladesh) have their fun. India have played against all teams. We don't strategize differently whether it is Bangladesh, Australia or any other team. We will try and focus on our game," the Indian captain said at the pre-match press conference.

KL Rahul Likely To Be Backed Ahead Of Sarfaraz Khan

Meanwhile, the Indian team management is likely to back KL Rahul ahead of Sarfaraz Khan in the Playing 11. Captain Rohit also talked about the issue at a press confernece but did not announce whether he will be starting with Rahul.

"We all know the quality of Rahul, he has got the talent - it's important we give a clear message - since he came back, he scored a hundred in South Africa, 80+ in Hyderabad then unfortunately got injured - I don't see any reason why he can't flourish in Tests," Rohit said.
