Retiring David Warner Gifts Helmet, Gloves To Young Fan - WATCH
Retiring Australian batsman David Warner made a young fan's day with this gesture. WATCH.
Australia Vs Pakistan 3rd Test: Australia completed a comfortable 3-0 whitewash of Pakistan as they won the third and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground by 8 wickets. Starting their Day 4 at 68/7, Pakistan had Mohammad Rizwan and Aamir Jamal at the crease. Throughout the Test series, these two have been the brightest stars for the Asian side. Their antics have been an equivalent to a 'silver lining in the dark cloud' performance of the Pakistan side.
Such was the case in their second innings of the match as the pair notched up a fighting partnership of 42 before Nathan Lyon got rid of Mohammad Rizwan, and 3 balls later, Aamir Jamal followed the former too back into the pavilion via a menacing delivery from Australian captain Pat Cummins. Pakistan were bundled out for 115, leaving Australia with a target of meagre 130 runs, which they chased comfortably within 25.5 overs as hometown heroes David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne notched up the respective scores of 57 and 62.
Aamir Jamal has been a revelation this Test series for Pakistan and was even awarded the Man of the Match award in the third Test inspite of being on the losing side. The 27-year old, who had made his debut in this series, leaves out as a star for the Asian side as he scalped 18 wickets and contributed with bat too as he chipped-in hefty 147 runs inspite of being designated as a bowler.
The Australian side gave their departing legend David Warner a fitting send-off, as the New South Wales-born batter won the World Test Championship, The Ashes, ODI World Cup, and now hangs his boots with a whitewash of Pakistan, with the last Test being at his beloved home, the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The left-handed Australian batter has given immensely lovely memories for more than a decade and did the same in his last ever international match as well, as he gifted his 'kissed' helmet to a young fan and thereby, giving that boy a lifelong memory.
