Rahul And Deepak Chahar Become 4th pair of Brothers To Represent India In Cricket

The Chahar brothers became only the fourth pair of brothers to have represented India in international cricket.

Virat Kohli-led India pulled off a clean sweep against the West Indies in the 3-match T20 series after beating them convincingly in the 3rd T20 match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The match had a special meaning for leg spinner Rahul Chahar, who made his international debut against the Windies. Rahul Chahar also created history of sorts as he played alongside his brother Deepak Chahar. The Chahar brothers thereby became only the fourth pair of brothers to have represented India in international cricket. Rahul Chahar was handed his debut cap by India captain Virat Kohli as the 20-year-old became the fourth youngest T20I debutant for India. After having won the T20 series, the Indian team played a new XI combination for the final game. Rahul Chahar replaced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, while Deepak Chahar came in place for left-arm seamer Khaleel Ahmed. Vice-captain Rohit Sharma was rested and KL Rahul replaced him in the side. Before the Chahar brothers, Mohinder and Surinder Amarnath, Irfan and Yousuf Pathan, Hardik and Krunal Pandya were the other three pairs to feature for India. Rahul and Deepak Chahar were born seven years apart and are cousin brothers. The two have already been at opposite ends of one of the fiercest rivalries of the IPL when Deepak got the better of his brother Rahul as he dismissed him for a duck in the IPL final in Hyderabad.
