Pink Ball Test: Smriti Mandhana Becomes 1st Indian Woman To Score Century In Day & Night Test

AUSvIND: Smriti Mandhana displayed a solid show in Australia to reach her maiden hundred!

IND Vs AUS Women: India's Smriti Mandhana has created history in the Day-Night Test match being played against Australia women's cricket team. This is the first Pink Ball Test played by the Indian team. Smriti Mandhana has become the first Indian woman cricketer to score a century in a Day-Night Test. Courtesy to the century of Smriti Mandhana, the Indian team is looking in a very good position.

The only Test being played between India and Australia began on 30 September. Australia won the toss and asked India to bat first. India's openers Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma have proved this decision of the Australian captain wrong, with their batting. 

Smriti Mandhana completed her century in 170 balls with the help of 19 fours and one six. This is Smriti Mandhana's first century in Test cricket. However, Smriti started her innings very fast and by the time she reached her half-century, she was scoring runs at a strike rate of around 100. After this, Smriti started playing carefully according to the situation.

Smriti Mandhana's gets out for 127

Smriti Mandhana scored 127 runs in 216 balls with the help of 22 fours and one six. The team's score when the news was being written was 217/2. Poonam Raut has kept the front by scoring 36 runs at the other end.

Earlier, Smriti along with Shefali gave India a good start. India's first wicket fell for 93 runs. Shefali Verma returned to the pavilion after scoring 31 runs. Most of the first day's play, however, was affected due to rain.
