No Babar Azam In Pakistan Squad For Zimbabwe Series, Set To Return For Australia Tour

Babar Azam will not feature in Pakistan's ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Babar Azam, former Pakistan captain, does not find a place in the national team for the ODI and the T20I tour of Zimbabwe. After Pakistan's Test series win over England, the selectors have opted to go for a second-string side. Other than Babar, several other Pakistan players will not be part of the Zimbabwe series including the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, the latter of which misses out only on the T20I series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a statement, clarifying the selection policy for the ODI and the T20I series. "This approach follows the selectors’ rotation policy and provides opportunities to domestic performers, aligning with the team’s strategy for the ICC Champions Trophy and beyond," the official statement read.
