Ex-Pak Cricketer Breaks Silence On Pahalgam Attack With Two-Word Tweet

The post quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention and reactions across social media.

The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam has left the nation reeling. On the afternoon of April 22, gunmen disguised in fake military uniforms opened fire on civilians, reportedly killing at least 26 people and leaving 17 others severely injured. Chaos broke out as the shooting began, with people fleeing for safety amid the unprovoked violence.

Disturbing reports suggest the attackers targeted individuals based on their religion, reportedly asking some to recite the Kalma. Those who failed were shot, many fatally.

The victims included tourists and families who had come to Pahalgam seeking peace - only to be met with unimaginable horror. Among the heart-wrenching stories is that of a newlywed woman whose husband was killed, turning her honeymoon into a nightmare.

Mohammad Hafeez Responds

Former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez broke his silence on the incident with a two-word tweet: “Sad & Heartbroken.” The post quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention and reactions across social media.

Indian cricketers mourn and demand justice

Indian cricketers, too, voiced their sorrow and condemnation. Virat Kohli called the attack "deeply disturbing," while Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir wrote, “Prayers for the families of those lost. The perpetrators will face consequences. India will strike back.”

Other cricketing legends, including Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, and Irfan Pathan, also expressed their grief, standing in solidarity with the victims and their families.

The usual buzz and excitement at the start of SRH vs MI IPL match gave way to a moment of solemn reflection on Wednesday, as players and match officials observed a minute's silence and wore black armbands to honor the victims of the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

At the toss, Cummins and Hardik showed solidarity with the families of the deceased.

"I would like to pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack. I and my team strongly condemn the cowardly attack," said Hardik.

Cummins added: "It has been heartbreaking for us as well, our thoughts are with the victims and their families."
