CSK Batting Coach Michael Hussey Reveals MS Dhoni's Batting Position For IPL 2020

The 39-year old CSK stalwart MS Dhoni will be making his comeback after a fourteen month break to lead the franchise in IPL 2020.

Three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Michael Hussey is very excited for the upcoming 13th edition of the IPL and is upbeat about his team’s chances to clinch the title for the fourth time. Speaking about Indian cricket team's former skipper MS Dhoni, Hussey said, “No. 4 is ideal for Dhoni to bat, but everyone in the middle-order will need to adapt as per the situation.”

The 39-year old CSK stalwart MS Dhoni, who hasn't played a single match for team India since their exit from 2019 WC semis after losing against New Zealand, will be making his comeback after a fourteen month break to lead CSK, which is slated to be played in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.

Players have not been able to play cricket amid the Covid-19 induced lockdown. CSK has organised a seven-day training camp (August 15 to August 20) ahead of IPL.

When asked if rustiness due to lockdown will affect form of the CSK players, Hussey said, “[They need to] Just get in the ground and do the hard work. We are lucky to have a lot of experienced players in our ranks who know their game well. They also know what they need to prepare and how to be ready for the task.”

Hussey said he was very happy that the IPL was ‘finally happening’ after getting initially postponed by the BCCI, but insists that it will be really interesting to see how bio-secure bubble for the duration of the tournament will be maintained for everyone's safety.

“Very excited about the tournament going ahead and interested to see how it will all go with no crowds and staying in a strict bio secure bubble. It will definitely not be easy, but we must be disciplined and stick to the rules for the benefit of everyone's health,” he said.
