New Zealand 88 All-Out: New Zealand are up against Sri Lanka in the second SL vs NZ Test at Galle. Led by Tim Southee, the Kiwis are under all sorts of pressure on Day 3 of the Test match as Sri Lanka are looking set for another big victory to claim the series 2-0. After racking up 602 runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka bundled the New Zealand batting lineup for just 88 runs to secure the massive lead of 514 runs and enforce a follow-on.
Sri Lanka elected to bat first and after centuries from Dinesh Chandimal, Kamindu Mendis and Kusal Mendis, they declared the innings on 602-5.
New Zealand, in response, got off to a turbulent start against Sri Lanka’s spin bowlers. Prabath Jayasuriya, who claimed a six-fer was accompanied by Nishan Peiris, who took three wickets to help Sri Lanka bowl New Zealand out for 88.
After the debacle that New Zealand faced, cricket enthusiasts took to social media to praise Jayasuriya's bowling and express amusement at New Zealand’s poor batting, with one user calling New Zealand's innings a 'disastrous performance'.
