Narine hits 79 in TKR victory over Barbabdos Tridents


New Delhi: Sunil Narine procduced his highest score of 79 in T20 cricket as Trinbago Knight Riders registered victory over Barbados Tridents by 2 wickets at the Queens Park Oval on Sunday.


Narine opened the Trinbago innings with former Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum, but saw wickets tumbling on the other end and put them on 76/4 at the end of 10 overs.


Skipper Dwayne Bravo joined Narine in the middle as the duo added 63 runs to register 4th victory in 5 matches. Narine hit 5 sixes and 6 fours in his 45-delivery knock and easily surpassed his previous best of 54 runs.


Earlier, Barbados Tridents had managed 152 runs with superb batting effort from Pakistan batsman Shoaib Malik, who scored 51 runs.


Trinbago Knight Riders stand on top of the table and the franchise is owned by Bolywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
