After Bowling In Bengaluru, Mohammed Shami Announces He Is 'Pain Free' Ahead Of Australia Tests

Mohammed Shami said that he was happy with the way he bowled after India's defeat to New Zealand in Bengaluru as he eyes a return to competitive cricket post a surgery.

With all eyes on Mohammed Shami ahead of India's tour of Australia, the right-arm fast bowler was seen bowling at the centre-wicket at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Benglauru. The Indian speedster was seen bowling under the supervision of India's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar after the team's defeat to New Zealand in the Test series opener.

And now Shami has announced that he is pain free and with the Australia series still some time away there is every reason to believe that he could be part of India's pace attack when the Men in Blue Tour Australia Down Under.

"I am very happy with how I bowled yesterday. I was bowling from half run-up before that because I didn't want to take too much load. But yesterday, I decided to go full tilt, and I bowled at a 100 per cent," the 34-year-old told reporters on the sidelines of an event by Eugenix Hair Sciences as quoted by news agency PTI.

"The result was good. I am 100 per cent pain-free. Everyone has been wondering for a long time about whether I will make it for the Australia series but it is still some time away," he added while referring to the Australia series set to commence on November 22.

I Want To Play Couple Of Ranji Matches: Shami

The senior India pacer said that he wants to play a couple of Ranji Trophy matches for Bengal before heading into Australia.

"The only thing on my mind is to ensure that I am fit and how strong I can be for the Australia series. I can see what kind of attack we need in Australia. I have to spend more time on the ground," he said.

"I want to play a couple of (Ranji) matches before I go," the seamer said.
