Christchurch: Worries seem to be following the Pakistan team. On a day when New Zealand thrashed them by 8 wickets, their captain and one of the main stays in the batting order, Misbah-ul-Haq has pulled out of the New Zealand tour. He will return home following the death of his father-in-law.

Misbah received the news early Sunday and headed to the airport with his wife and daughter as soon as the match ended.

Azhar Ali will take over as captain and no immediate decision was made about flying out a replacement before the second Test starts in Hamilton on Friday.

New Zealand reached the target of 108 with eight wickets in hand to go 1-0 up in the two-match series.
