Micro chips to be used in bats during Champions Trophy

New Delhi: ICC Champions Trophy 2017 is all set to begin on June 1 in the United Kingdom and top eight teams of the world will battle it out to claim the coveted trophy.

With just couple of days remaining, ICC has tied up with Intel technologies to enhance the experience of the game. The world cricket body has decided to use micro chips in the bats of the cricketers. 3 batsmen will be picked from each team to bat with the specially crafted bats.

WHY BATS WITH MICROCHIPS?

In what nano second Virat Kohli reacts against a bouncer? Rohit Sharma hits a boundary? How many seconds it takes for Dhoni’s shot to cross the ropes? All these questions will be answered during Champions Trophy with this technological advancement.

Earlier in 2016 America's Rugby League NFL went the same way to incorporate chips inside the ball. The game became more interesting as a result for the viewers and helped improve the performance of the players. Now ICC going the same way to make the game smarter.
