Jos Buttler On Verge Of Surpassing Virat Kohli's Milestone In IND vs ENG T20Is

IND vs ENG T20Is: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jos Buttler have been extraordinary contributors to T20 cricket.

The much-awaited India vs England five-match T20 International series is set to kick off on January 22. Amid the excitement, all eyes are on England captain Jos Buttler, who has a golden opportunity to break Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli's 'mega milestone'.

Former India skipper Virat Kohli currently holds the record for most runs scored in T20 International matches between India and England. Over 21 matches from 2011 to 2024, Kohli has scored 648 runs, including five half-centuries. Jos Buttler is not far behind, with 498 runs in 22 matches across 19 innings, including four half-centuries.

If Buttler scores 151 runs during IND vs ENG T20I series, he will surpass Virat Kohli and become the leading run-scorer in T20 clashes between these two cricketing giants.

India captain Rohit Sharma, another standout player, ranks third on the list, having scored 467 runs in 16 matches, which includes one century and three half-centuries.

With both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired from T20 internationals following India's historic triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup, their run tallies remain unchanged. This opens the door for Buttler to seize the record and establish himself as the most successful batsman in T20 encounters between India and England.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jos Buttler have been extraordinary contributors to T20 cricket. Kohli has scored 4,188 runs in 125 matches, with one century and 38 half-centuries. Rohit Sharma leads the pack with 4,231 runs in 159 matches, including five centuries and 32 half-centuries. Jos Buttler has so far scored 3,389 runs in 129 matches, featuring one century and 25 half-centuries.

India vs England T20I series will be held across five prominent cricketing cities in India. The matches will begin in Kolkata for the 1st T20I, followed by Chennai for 2nd, Rajkot for 3rd, Pune for 4th, and the fifth and final match will take place in Mumbai.
