All Records Shattered In IPL Final; RCB vs PBKS Becomes Most-Watched Match Ever

As the final progressed, fans from across the world flocked to their screens in record numbers.

The IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) has gone down in history — not only for the thrilling on-field action but also for breaking every previous record in terms of viewership.

Held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the match reportedly saw live viewership on Jio Hotstar and JioCinema cross a staggering 56 crore, marking the highest-ever audience for an IPL match.

Unprecedented Craze for IPL Final

As the final progressed, fans from across the world flocked to their screens in record numbers.

During the 15th over of Punjab’s innings, live viewership peaked at nearly 56 crore, eclipsing all prior benchmarks. Until now, the highest recorded viewership was during Qualifier 2, where 42.9 crore viewers tuned in to watch Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings — despite the match ending around 2 AM.

The final, however, witnessed a surge in fan engagement like never before, underscoring the unmatched popularity of this year’s finale.

A Season Built on Drama and Surprises

The 2025 IPL season has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. With several unexpected upsets, thrilling finishes, and underdog victories, the tournament kept fans hooked from start to finish.

Even the season opener between RCB and KKR drew massive attention, garnering 41.7 crore live viewers — a figure that seemed huge then but has now been dwarfed by the final. It’s clear that the high-octane drama throughout the season played a crucial role in building up to this record-breaking climax.

High-Stakes Clash: RCB vs PBKS

The final itself lived up to all expectations. Royal Challengers Bangalore, batting first, posted a challenging total of 191 runs, giving themselves a solid platform in the high-pressure game.

Punjab Kings, still chasing their first-ever IPL title, responded with fierce determination, ensuring the contest remained tense and unpredictable till the final overs. With both sides seeking their maiden IPL championship, the stakes were sky-high — a factor that added further weight to the match’s record-breaking viewership.

The IPL 2025 final wasn’t just a cricket match — it was a landmark moment in sports broadcasting history.
