IPL 2020: Rohit Sharma Could Play For MI Soon As 'Hitman' Training 'Non-Stop' To Regain Full Match Fitness
Giving an update on Rohit Sharma's injury during the toss against RCB, Mumbai's stand-in skipper Kieron Pollard said Rohit is still recuperating from his hamstring injury.
Table toppers Mumbai Indians (MI) put one foot in the play-offs with a 5-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match 48 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) played at the Shiekh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (October 28).
Mumbai India's 5-wicket win over RCB took them to 16 points and put them in a safety zone of sorts in the larger context of the play-off qualification. It would have to be a miraculous scenario in the fag end of the league assignment to unfold for stopping MI from securing a play-off berth.
While the defending champions look on track to finish among the top two at the end of the league stage, the injury to their skipper and batting mainstay is still a major cause of worry for the 4-time champs.
For a third straight game in a row, Rohit Sharma did not feature in the MI playing eleven against RCB on Wednesday (Oct 28) as he is still recovering from a hamstring injury on his left leg.
Rohit has missed out on playing against Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings after pulling his hamstring in the game against KXIP.
Giving an update on Rohit Sharma's injury during the toss against RCB, Mumbai's stand-in skipper Kieron Pollard said Rohit is still recuperating from his hamstring injury. "It is a bit like taking it day by day. But notwithstanding that, we need to come out and play good cricket to make sure that we do well in the IPL," said Pollard at the toss on Wednesday.

As per a report filed by news agency ANI, Rohit Sharma is leaving no efforts to get back to full match fitness. He has been training slowly but 'non stop' in order to achieve match fitness.
"He has been training regularly. The day after the KXIP game was a rest day so there was anyway no training. But whenever the MI unit has trained, he has been there and while he slowly started with working on his leg, he has been hitting the nets now. In fact, before the last game, he also took throwdowns at the ground. He is clearly making an honest effort to regain full match fitness," the source told ANI.
Mumbai Indians on Monday (October 26) had posted some photos and a video in which the batting stalwart can be seen playing some shots in the nets and appeared to be relatively fit too, hinting at a possibility of Rohit playing for Mumbai Indians very soon.
The fitness of Rohit Sharma is just not limited to the fortunes of MI in the ongoing IPL Season 13 but also has larger impact on the India team for their upcoming tour Down 'Under' . A massive storm brew up after Rohit Sharma was left out of all three India squads that were selected on Tuesday (October 27) to tour Australia for a full-fledged series. While his injury could be the major reason behind him being sidelined for the upcoming Indian tour of Australia, pics and videos of 'Hitman' training at the nets shortly after the squad announcement triggered off speculations that MI skipper had been left out due to a possible rift with skipper Kohli4️⃣5️⃣ seconds of RO 4️⃣5️⃣ in full flow!🔥#OneFamily #MumbaiIndians #MI #Dream11IPL @ImRo45 pic.twitter.com/65ajVQcEKc
