Suryakumar Yadav joined Ishan Kishan after De Kock's cheap dismissal. Opener Kishan looked solid and held one end strongly to get his team past 50 in the 8th over. However, lethal leggie Yuzvendra Chahal, as he does so often, struck in his very first of his spell, to depart well-set Ishan Kishan for 25. The MI opener stepped out to go big but holed out to Morris in the deep.
Mumbai Indians now needed a good partnership to pull themselves back into the game. Suryakumar Yadav broke the shackles by hitting a few aggressive strokes. With this, MI looked to out on some more pressure on RCB bowlers. Halfway through the chase, MI managed to get 70 runs on the board for the loss of De Kock and Kishan.
