IPL 2020, Qualifier 1: Rohit Sharma Equals Unwanted Record Of Most Ducks In IPL

It was for the 13th time that Rohit Sharma got out for a duck without scoring a run in the IPL, which equaled him with RCB wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel for joint most ducks in the history of the league.

Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma on Thursday equaled an unwanted record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during his team's 57-run win over Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2020 Play-off played at the  Dubai international Stadium in Dubai on Thursday. Rohit Sharma, who was trapped leg before wicket by Delhi Capitals off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was sent back to the pavilion without even opening his account in the second over of MI batting innings. It was for the 13th time that Rohit Sharma got out for a duck without scoring a run in the IPL, which equaled him with RCB wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel for joint most ducks. Rohit's early dismissal did not help Delhi Capitals' cause as opener Quinton De Kock and Ishan Kishan counterattacked and helped MI lay a strong foundation and propel their side to a 200-run total. Rohit who happens to be the 4th highest scorer in the IPL has a rather poor record in IPL playoffs, scoring only 229 runs from 19 innings at a dismal average of 12.72. While the 'Hitman' got out for a duck in the Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals, he was dismissed for just 4 in MI's last league assignment against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
