IND Vs SL: A solid Indian bowling performance restricted the Sri Lankan batsmen to 126 runs. Read the Match Summary of 1st T20I below.

Colombo: India defeat Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka by 10 runs. The victory belonged to the India bowlers as they kept on picking up timely wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 4 wickets and sealed the deal for Indian in the first T20I.

India had posted 64 runs in the first innings. Suryakumar Yadav played a good innings of 50 runs, while Shikhar Dhawan also provided a steady start to the innings. The middle-order did not show much promise. Hardik Pandya struggled for his innings of 10 runs in 12 balls. Kishan looked good but wasn't able to hit any big ones towards the end.

Nonetheless, it's a challenging score on a grassy wicket that is testing batsmen. It was expected that the grass would rule in favour of the batters but it instead helped the bowlers.

Sri Lanka's batting looked good in bits and pieces but they kept on losing wickets in quick intervals. All the bowlers who bowled for India picked at least one wicket. Bhuvi picked 4 as mentioned earlier. Apart from him, Chahar took 2 tickets while Chakravarthy, Krunal, Hardik and Chahal picked a wicket each.

India takes the lead in the series at Premadasa Stadium and will look forward to improving their performances with the bat in the upcoming matches.
