Varun Chakravarthy Records Career-Best Figures: Kolkata Knight Riders' spin wizard Varun Chakravarthy announces his return to international stage with a stellar statement, as he picks up his first T20I wicket in 1165 days. The feat was achieved when the right-arm off-spinner got rid of Towhid Hridoy during the 7th over of the first innings, as Hardik Pandya took a nice catch at the long-on region.

The 33-year-old ended up scalping two more wickets as he got the vital wickets of the dangerous duo of Rishad Hossain and Jaker Ali, and ended his spell with the figures of 3/31 in his 4 overs, and helped India restrict Bangladesh to 127.

Varun Chakravarthy Labels His Comeback As 'Emotional' Moment

During the post-match interview with former Indian cricketer Murali Kartik, the Indian off-spinner hailed his comeback as an 'emotional' moment and added that he 'just wants to stick to the process'.

"Definitely, after 3 long years, it was emotional for me. Nice to be back in blues, feels like a re-birth. Yeah, I just want to stick to the process. That is what I am does in IPL as well. I just don't want to overthink. After IPL, I played a few tournaments, one of them was TNPL. That is the place I work a lot with Ash bhai. Few months ago, it was a good preparation for us," said Varun Chakravarthy

"I thought it could have gone my way (on the dropped catch by Nitish Reddy in his first over). But that's how cricket goes. Can't complain. There have been many. When you are not in the side, people tend to write you off. Hopefully I can continue my good work," added the Indian right-arm off-spinner.
