IND vs AUS: Australia announce unchanged squad for next 2 Tests

IND vs AUS: Australia have fielded the same XI for the first two Tests, but captain Tim Paine said conditions will dictate the starting sides for the final two Tests

Australia on Tuesday announced an unchanged 13-man squad for the remaining two matches against India. The announcement came hours after they won their 1st Test since the ball-tampering scandal broke out in South Africa earlier this year.

Aussie skipper Tim Paine had already praised the performance of his opener in the Perth Test who showcased a terrific show in the first innings. Especially, Aaron Finch, who found his way to redemption after remaining unimpressive in Adelaide.

At the same time, Peter Siddle remains as a backup pacer after the quick trio comprising pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood. On the other hand, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been recalled who would probably be inducted in place of the struggling Peter Handscomb.

“Conditions are going to be different at the MCG than they were here and then in Sydney. We will have to pick what we think is the best combination to win both of those Tests. If it's this XI then great, but if we have to make some changes I am sure will talk about that at some stage,” said Paine.

Chris Tremain, who was a part of the squad leading into the series and was released before the Perth Test, remains in the side as the selectors haven’t felt to make any changes for the rest of the series.

Squad:

Aaron Finch, Marcus Harris, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Travis Head, Tim Paine (c & wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh, Peter Siddle, Chris Tremain.

Australia levelled the series 1-1 in Perth and now both the sides will be having an 8-day gap before they lock horns in the 3rd Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on the Boxing Day, i.e., December 26.
