ICC Announces Equal Prize Money For Men's And Women's World Cups

ICC made a huge announcement regarding Women's T20 World Cup 2024 prize money, increasing it by "225 percent" compared to previous years.

Prize Money for Women's T20 World Cup 2024: The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to start on October 3, with UAE as the host country. The opening match will see Bangladesh go up against Scotland at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Meanwhile, ICC made a huge announcement regarding Women's T20 World Cup 2024 prize money, increasing it by "225 percent" compared to previous years. The huge rise is prize money will reward both the champion and the runner-up teams.

ICC has revealed the prize money for Women's T20 World Cup 2024: the champion team (winner) will be awarded a grand amount of $2,340,000 while the runner-up will get $1,170,000. ICC increased Women's T20 World Cup 2024 prize money by 225 percent compared to previous editions. The winning team will receive 134 percent more than before, and the runner-up will also see a 134 percent increase.

Teams reaching the semi-finals will get 221 percent more, while the prize money for teams in the group stage has risen by 78 percent.

Indian women's cricket team will start their campaign on October 4, facing New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The tournament was originally scheduled to be hosted in Bangladesh, but due to a political crisis in the country, it has been relocated to UAE. The final will be played on October 20.
