This remarkable triumph propelled India to the coveted number one position in the ICC Men's World Test Championship Points Table 2023-25. Despite facing a setback in the series opener, India rallied to claim a historic 4-1 Test series win, a feat unmatched for 112 years.

As the competition intensifies to clinch the top two spots in the final of the World Test Championship 2023-25, India's path to securing a third consecutive appearance in the final is critical. The final of the World Test Championship 2023-25 is expected to take place at Lord's in London in June 2025.

Before the fifth and final test match between India and England in Dharamshala, India held the top spot in the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table. With their victory in the fifth Test, India secured 12 points, elevating their total to 74 points and maintaining their position at the summit of the WTC points table. At present, India's Point Percentage (PCT) now stands at 68.51, the highest among all competing teams.

Before the conclusion of WTC 2023-25 cycle, team India is scheduled to participate in 10 additional matches. Following their victory over England at home, India will engage in 2 Tests against Bangladesh, 3 against New Zealand, and 5 Test Matches against Australia in Australia.

Australia, positioned at number two in the WTC points table, has showcased dominance with 8 wins out of 12 matches thus far, establishing them as formidable contenders for the WTC final alongside India. With 7 matches remaining in the WTC cycle, the Aussies require victory in 4 of these matches to secure a berth in the final of the WTC.
