London: After facing a lot of flack for his 'sexist' comments while being on commentary, Dinesh Karthik has apologized publicly. He said that it was not his intention to say what he said.
Actually, Karthik was on air on Sky Sports while England was chasing down the score of 242. He gave a controversial statement saying that neighbour's wife "always feel better". “Batsmen and not liking bats – they go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat or… bats are like a neighbour’s wife, they always feel better.”
In the latest statement, Karthik apologized for this remark. He said, “I want to apologise for what happened last game,” said Karthik. “It’s definitely not what I intended. I got it all wrong, I want to apologise to everybody who heard that. I got a lot of stick from my mum and my wife, actually, for saying that. I’m really sorry for that, it shouldn’t happen again.”

Dinesh Karthik has played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 32 T20Is for India. Many fans slammed him for such a comment. Many on Twitter took potshots at Karthik after his comment. Will Karthik's apology pacify things for the India wicket-keeper batsman or will he face any new problems?
Currently, Dinesh Karthik is part of the official commentary team of the England vs Sri Lanka series. It is the first time we are seeing the wicket-keeper in the role of a commentator. Karthik will be in action in September when the Indian Premier League (IPL) resumes.
