COVID Positive Cameron Green Keeps Distance From Australia Teammates During National Anthem, Pic Goes Viral

AUS vs WI 2nd Test: Cameron Green features in Australia's playing 11 for the second Test but will not come in contact with any of his teammates throughout the match since he is infected with COVID-19.

While the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic changed the way international cricket was played, seems like with normally resuming in most parts of the world and a herd immunity in place against the dreaded virus, the parameters have changed. Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, for instance, was allowed to take part in Australia's playing 11 for the second Test match against West Indies in Brisbane on Thursday even after he tested positive for the virus.

Having said that, Green was asked to maintain distance from his Australia teammates wherever possible. It is also being learnt that Green will not come in contact with his teammates throughout the match. A picture of him standing at a distance from the rest of his teammates during Australia's national anthem before the start of the Test at the Gabba in Brisbane went viral on social media in no time.

Take a look at the picture here:

Travis Head Cleared To Play At Gabba

It is pertinent to note that even though Travis Head had also been diagnosed with COVID-19 before the Gabba Test, the Player of the Match from the first Test against West Indies where he scored 119 off 134 deliveries in the first innings was cleared to play in this match after his recent COVID-19 result returned negative.

Talking about the match, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. However, they have not got off to a great start and find themselves reduced to 64/5 in 25.2 overs. Mitchell Starc has been the wrecker-in-chief for Australia with figures of 3 for 31. Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins have picked up a wicket each as the hosts are in the driver's seat to try and complete a clean sweep.
