BCCI CEO Rahul Johri Resigns

It may be noted that Johri had put in his resignation three months ago but it was put on hold by the BCCI and asked to continue in the interim.

New Delhi: According to sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) management and Apex council members today decided to accept the resignation of BCCI CEO Rahul Johri.

It may be noted that Johri had put in his resignation three months ago but it was put on hold by the BCCI and asked to continue in the interim.

Interestingly, Johri's resignation is yet another blow to the BCCI which has seen secretary Jay Shah term allegedly over while Sourav Ganguly tenure as president ending July 27 leaving a huge gap in BCCI management, especially when the board is looking to hold the IPL.

BCCI's petition in the Supreme Court asking for a waiver for Ganguly and Jay Shah tenure to be extended and modification of other rules is still pending a hearing in the SC over the last one month.
