Babar Azam breaks Virat Kohli's record

Pakistan cricket star batsman Babar Azam has made a big record in T20I cricket. The 24-year-old is now the fastest player to reach 1,000 T20 International runs

Pakistan cricket star batsman Babar Azam has made a big record in T20 cricket. After breaking the record of India's captain Virat Kohli, Azam is now the fastest player to reach 1,000 Twenty20 International runs.

In the third and finalT20 match against New Zealand on Sunday, Babar crossed the 1000-mark when he reached 48 in his 26th T20 innings; he scored 79 off 58 deliveries. Earlier, Virat Kohli crossed the figure of 1000 runs in his 27th innings in T20 cricket.

After Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat final match of the T20I series against New Zealand at Dubai stadium, Mohammad Hafeez scored a brilliant 34-ball 53 is the same match.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam has played 15 Tests and 51 ODIs with 26 T-20 matches. In T20, Babar has scored 1031 runs with his personal best score of 97 not out; he also has scored eight half-centuries in T20 cricket. 

Currently rested Virat Kohli will resume cricket starting with the T20I series on November 2, when India will tour Australia later this month.
