AUS vs IND: Kane Richardson Withdraws From ODI, T20I Series To Spend Time With Newborn Son
Fast bowler Andrew Tye will replace Kane Richardson in Australia's ODI and T20I squads. India will commence the white-ball leg of their all-format tour against Australia with the first ODI in Sydney on November 27.
Cricket Australia confirmed on Wednesday that seam bowler Kane Richardson has withdrawn from the upcoming white-ball series against India to spend time with his newborn son.
Fast bowler Andrew Tye will replace Kane Richardson in Australia's ODI and T20I squads. India will commence the white-ball leg of their all-format tour against Australia with the first ODI in Sydney on November 27.
A regular member of the Australian white ball squad, Richardson has represented his nation in 25 ODIs and 21 T20Is since making his debut in 2013 and has taken 39 and 22 wickets in both the formats respectively.
“It was a difficult decision for Kane to make but one which has the complete support of the selectors and the entire playing squad. Kane wanted to remain in Adelaide with Nyki and their newborn son.

“We will always support our players and their families, even more so given the challenging environment we are in. We will miss what he brings to the team but completely understand and support his decision,” national selector Trevor Hohns said in a statement.

CA also announced that hard hitting opener D’Arcy Short and Josh Philippe will train with the Australian limited-overs squads in Sydney from next week before they join their respective Big Bash teams for the flagship T20 league. The decision was taken due to the fresh coronavirus outbreak in South Australia.
