WATCH: 46 Runs Scored In One Over In T20 Franchise League In Kuwait
Viral Video: NCM's Vasu was on fire against Tally and was instrumental in his side accumulating 46 runs in an over.
Even as cricketing rationale might suggest that a maximum of 36 runs can be scored in an over which is what the record books also suggest in ODIs and T20Is, in a bizarre feat 46 runs were scored in an over in a franchise league in Kuwait. In the 50-over format in ODI Cricket, while South Africa's Herschelle Gibbs scored 6 sixes in an over against Netherlands in 2006, USA's Jaskaran Malhotra also achieved the same feat in an ODI against Papua New Guinea in 2021.
In the shortest format of international cricket too, 36 happens to be the maximum number of runs that have been scored in an over with India's Yuvraj Singh smashing six sixes in an over in the T20 World Cup 2007. Later, Kieron Pollard also smashed each ball of the over for a maximum in 2021.
In Test matches, India's Jasprit Bumrah accumulated 35 runs in an over. But in a recent T20 League game in Kuwait, a bizarre feat happened as 46 runs were scored in an over. The incident happened in KCC Friends Mobile T20 Champions Trophy 2023 where in a fixture between NCM Investment and Tally CC, NCM's Vasu was on fire against Tally's Harman who started with a no-ball and was smashed for a six, he then ended up conceding four byes and the next five deliveries went for five sixes out of which one came off a no-ball.
The last legal delivery of the over was also hit for a boundary and in turn the total tally of runs that were accumulated in the over came to 46. The video of the over which has shattered several records has also surfaced on social media.
Take a look:
Getting 46 runs in an over is not possible right? Right? Wrong! Watch this absolute bonkers over now.

Earlier in this season of the IPL, Kolkata Knight Rider's (KKR) Rinku Singh smashed five sixes off the final five deliveries to ensure the team chase down 29 off the final five over against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
