Japan's Moon Lander 'SLIM' Spotted On Lunar Surface By NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. See PIC

SLIM landed on the lunar surface about 55 kilometres east of the original target landing site. The successful soft landing made Japan the fifth country to softly land a spacecraft on the Moon.

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has spotted Japan's Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) on the lunar surface. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's (JAXA's) Moon lander soft-landed on the lunar surface on January 19, 2024, and five days later, the LRO passed over the landing site and captured a picture of SLIM.
