After the celebration of Hariyali Teej, devotees observe the auspicious Hartalika Teej, a significant festival dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Meaning Of Hartalika Teej

The term Hartalika is derived from two Sanskrit words—‘Harat’ (abduction) and ‘Aalika’ (female friend). The legend behind the festival narrates how Goddess Parvati's friends abducted her to prevent her from being married off to someone else, as she was determined to marry Lord Shiva. This symbolic act forms the basis of the Hartalika Teej celebration.

In 2025, Hartalika Teej will be observed on August 26, 2025, which falls on the Tritiya Tithi (third day) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada.
