Irfan Pathan shares selfie with wife, gets slammed on social media

Irfan Pathan married Safa baig in February 2016 in a low key affair.

This is not the first time that Islamic radicals have targeted an Indian cricketer.

Earlier in December 2016, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami was trolled for posting picture with his wife who was wearing a sleeveless gown.

The couple was blessed with a baby boy in December.

Some even reminded Irfan of his religion and advised him not to do such ‘unethical’ things

Indeed it turned out to be trouble, as people started questioning the very need for Irfan to share a photo of his wife. (Photo: Facebook)

But things worsened when Irfan tweeted a picture which tends to provoke Muslim radicals.

The left-arm fast bowler shared this photo of him and his wife Safa Baig on his official facebook page on Monday with a caption “this girl is trouble.” (Photo: Facebook)

While cricketers getting moral lectures on social media is not uncommon but Irfan would not have imagined in even in his wildest of dreams that a picture would attract such negative comments.

But Irfan’s emotions had no takers in social media as his simple display of love for his wife was turned into a moral policing lecture. (Photo: AFP)
