Hardik and Krunal have come a long way. They have played their cricket together. Their father was a small businessman in Surat who shifted to Vadodara for better cricket facilities for his kids. The brothers have had to struggle a lot in the early days. Once in an interview t Indian Express, Hardik Pandya had said, "My brother and I used to get maggi for Rs 5 and we used to request the gardener to give us hot water and we used to prepare and eat it at the ground for lunch and breakfast."
