Several houses got inundated as the Brahmaputra River crossed the danger mark in Assam's Dibrugarh forcing people to move to the streets.

Residents in Assam's Dibrugarh have been forced to leave their homes as the overflowing Brahmaputra River submerged low-lying areas in the region. The river has breached the danger mark making people take refuge on the streets and move to safer locations. Visuals shared by ANI show many houses inundated. As of 6 AM on Monday, the Brahmaputra River was flowing at 105.81 metres which is above the danger mark of 105.7 metres, the video posted by ANI showed.

Monsoon rain, flash floods and landslides have led to massive restrictions in several states of the country this year with Uttarakhand and Himachal Prades being the most affected ones. In Assam, a concrete bridge collapsed due to floods in Baksa district's Kumrikata area prompting villagers to use a makeshift bamboo bridge to cross the Daranga River.

Several houses were damaged due to floods at Kayakuchi, in the Barpeta district as well.
