Houses Submerged, People Take Refuge On Streets As Brahmaputra Crosses Danger Mark In Assam's Dibrugarh
Several houses got inundated as the Brahmaputra River crossed the danger mark in Assam's Dibrugarh forcing people to move to the streets.
Residents in Assam's Dibrugarh have been forced to leave their homes as the overflowing Brahmaputra River submerged low-lying areas in the region. The river has breached the danger mark making people take refuge on the streets and move to safer locations. Visuals shared by ANI show many houses inundated. As of 6 AM on Monday, the Brahmaputra River was flowing at 105.81 metres which is above the danger mark of 105.7 metres, the video posted by ANI showed.
Monsoon rain, flash floods and landslides have led to massive restrictions in several states of the country this year with Uttarakhand and Himachal Prades being the most affected ones. In Assam, a concrete bridge collapsed due to floods in Baksa district's Kumrikata area prompting villagers to use a makeshift bamboo bridge to cross the Daranga River.

Several houses were damaged due to floods at Kayakuchi, in the Barpeta district as well.
NDRF Rescues 51 People After Cloudburst Leaves Them Stranded In Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing massive destruction due to rain-related incidents in the state. In one such case on Thursday, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued 51 people who were stranded in cloud burst incident sites at Shehnu Gouni and Kholanala villages in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, said authorities.
Heavy rainfall in the Himalayan state has led to widespread death and destruction. In a video shared by ANI, NRDF personnel were seen guiding people out of the remote areas and taking them to safer locations.
