'Satin Pyjamas, No Condom': Stormy Daniels Testimony In Donald Trump Hush Money Case Trial
Trump's lawyer attacked the adult film star's credibility and questioned her inconsistent statements over the time she said she was with Trump.
Adult film star Stormy Daniels testified on Tuesday about a sexual encounter that she said she had with former US President Donald Trump in 2006 for which she was paid to keep silent while Trump ran for office in 2016. Daniels made the testimonial during Trump's hush money trial in New York where the two sat feet away trading and dismissing charges.
As per media reports, the 45-year-old adult film star provided riveting details for several hours about her encounter with Trump. She testified that she tried not to think about the sex while it took place and feared it would become public, as per a Reuters report.
She said her life descended into "chaos" after the arrangement was made public in 2018, adding that she was ostracised and harassed at her home.
Trump's lawyers doubled down on Daniel's testimony seeking a mistrial as they argued that details such as her statement that Trump did not wear a condom, served no purpose other than to inflame the jury.
Justice Juan Merchan denied the request but agreed that some of the testimonies by Daniels ran too far afield.
During the trial, Daniels conceded she "hates" Trump and wanted to make money off her story. Her explanation of why she went public after seven years of silence was also unclear.
She recalled her first encounter with Trump at a celebrity golf tournament where he asked her to join him for a meal making sexual advancement. "This is the only way you're getting out of the trailer park," she said Trump told her.
She claimed she "blacked out" without consuming any drugs or alcohol after Trump prevented her from leaving the room by blocking the door and she woke up on the bed with her clothes off.
She said Trump greeted her at his hotel suite wearing satin pyjamas and dared Daniels to spank him with a magazine and she obliged.
Trump's lawyer attacked the adult film star's credibility and questioned her inconsistent statements over the time she said she was with Trump.
The Republican leader has pleaded not guilty and denies any sexual encounter with her, though he admitted that his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid her a sum to keep quiet about her claims.
