Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha on Thursday made a scathing attack on Congress after the Opposition targetted him over the Adani row. PM Modi took a dig at the President of Indian National Congress Mallikarjun Kharge after the latter complained about the Prime Minister's visits to Karnataka.

"Kharge Ji complains that I visit Kalaburagi. He should see the work done there. 1.70 cr Jan Dhan bank a/c have opened in Karnataka incl over 8 lakh accounts in Kalaburagi. The Budget session of Parliament has been marred by ruckus ever since US short-seller Hindenburg Research accused Adani Group of stock manipulation and accounting fraud. The Adani Group has denied any wrongdoing and has threatened to sue Hindenburg.

The Opposition has demanded a joint parliamentary committee probe the allegations against the Adani Group.

Meanwhile, the PM responding to sloganeering and ruckus by the opposition by saying, "the more you throw 'keechad', the better the lotus will bloom," as he responded to a debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in Rajya Sabha.
