Pakistan: First Visuals Of Imran Khan After Sustaining Bullet Injuries. Watch Video
Imran Khan Rally Firing: PTI leader Hammad Azhar said the wounds were not deep and Imran Khan was being operated upon to remove the bullets.
The first visual of former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan who received bullet injuries in his leg after a gunman opened fire during a rally in Punjab province has emerged. The video shows Imran Khan, dressed in a black kurta, being carried inside a vehicle by supporters to take him to hospital.
His right leg bandaged, Khan is seen waving in the video to his supporters as he is being shifted into an SUV. He was later admitted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital Lahore.
PTI leader Hammad Azhar said the wounds were not deep and Khan was being operated upon to remove the bullets. Several people, including PTI leader Faisal Javed, was injured in the firing, Dawn News reported.
PTI leader Imran Ismail told Dawn that party chief Imran Khan was shot in the leg "three to four" times. The attacker was directly in front of the container and was wielding a AK-47, he said.
One of the attackers, identified as M Naveed, was arrested from the spot. He said he tried killing Imran because he was "misleading the people", Dawn reported. "I tried my best to kill him. I wanted to kill Imran Khan only and no one else," the attacker said.

PTI leader Javed said one supporter was feared dead in what the party called an "assassination attempt" on the former cricketer during his Lahore-to-Islamabad march against the Shehbaz Sharif-led government.
Shehbaz Sharif condemned the firing on Imran Khan. "I have directed the interior minister for an immediate report on the incident. Violence should have no place in our country's politics," Sharif tweeted.
The incident brought back chilling memories of how former Pakistani PM Benazir Bhutto was shot dead during a rally in 2007.
