Karnataka Unlock: Curbs Eased Further, Night Curfew Lifted - Check New Guidelines

Further unlocking the state, Karnataka issued fresh guidelines today allowing opening of private offices, malls, restaurants, bars, and making Covid-19 appropriate behavior mandatory in the state.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Saturday announced the third stage of unlock procedure in the state and permitted opening of all shops, restaurants, malls, private offices, and religious places, including temples, till 9 p.m., in all districts, except Kodagu, from July 5.

Following a high-level meeting with experts and officials, B.S. Yediyurappa said that the night curfew will continue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. till July 19. However, the weekend curfew has been removed.

Action against those failing to follow COVID-10 protocol

As per the fresh guidelines, all shops, restaurants, malls, private offices, and closed places strictly wil have to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, those failing the guidelines will have to stern action under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, arroding to Chief Minister.

All theatres, cinema halls and pubs will remain closed while swimming pools would be permitted for competitive training purposes. Sports complexes and stadia will also be opened only for practice.

Sports academics will open only for training & preactice purposes

The release indicated that all social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious functions, and other gatherings, besides large congregations will be prohibited.

further relaxations, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Saturday lifted the night curfew in the state. The CM also allowed the government offices to reopen. Issuing fresh guidelines, the Chief Minister said that the district Administrations can apply more restrictions in their respective areas. 

Marriage functions to 100 people, and funeral restricted to 20 people

However, marriages and family functions will be permitted involving not more than 100 people. Cremation and funerals will be allowed with a maximum of 20 attendants. Besides, religious places would be allowed to open only for darshan and no sevas will be allowed.

Restrictions unease for Kodagu district

Following high Covid -19 positivity rates, Kodagu district will be deprived of relaxations announced by the government.
