Wrestlers' Protest: Anurag Thakur Urges Athletes To Wait For Delhi Police's Investigation Report
The Delhi Police has reportedly refuted news of the department having failed to uncover enough evidence in the case.
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday urged the protesting wrestlers against taking any step before the investigation into the sexual harassment case involving Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) by the Delhi police is over as it would harm the interest of the players. He said that on the demand of the wrestlers, a committee has also been formed which will look after the work of the Federation.
"I would tell the players that they should wait for the Delhi Police's investigation. It would be appropriate not to take any such step until the investigation is complete, which will affect the game and the players. Sports in the country has progressed under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi," said Anurag Thakur, while speaking to ABP News.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has reportedly refuted news of the department having failed to uncover enough evidence in the case.

A PTI report had earlier quoted a senior officer as saying that the police will submit a report in court within 15 days.
As the investigation continues, Wrestling Federation chief Brij Bhushan again reiterated that there is no evidence against him and he is ready to be hanged if any allegation is proved against him.
"If a single allegation against me is proven, I will hang myself. If you (wrestlers) have any evidence, present it to the Court and I am ready to accept any punishment," said Bhushan.
