Will hang SP goons upside down if BJP voted to power: Amit Shah
NEW DELHI: Launching a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party, BJP President Amit Shah said that the Uttar Pradesh government has failed on all fronts and alleged there are "gundaraj and jungleraj" in the state.
Voters will give a befitting reply to two "yuvrajs" (princes) who looted the state and the Centre, he said, referring to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
He said that Anti-Romeo squads would be formed to protect the girls and hang SP goons upside down and teach them a lesson, if BJP is voted to power.
"Girls in UP don't go to school because of SP goons, who harass them. We will ensure that our girls are safe. Every police station near college will have anti-Romeo squads, which will hang these SP goons upside down and teach them a lesson," Shah said.
Ramgopal Yadav, Azam Khan hit back
Reacting to Shah's comment that anti-Romeo squads will hand SP goons upside down, SP general secretory Ramgopal Yadav said that the BJP did this in Gujarat to innocent people.
Senior SP leader and UP minister Azam Khan while quoting a newspaper report said that 40 per cent of BJP's candidates, who were given tickets in the first phase of UP elections, have criminal background.
