Weather Update: Light To Moderate Rainfall Expected In Several Parts Of The Country For Next Five Days

IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning across the country with pleasant weather conditions.

Light to moderate rainfall with a few spells of intense rain, thunderstorms, and lightning is likely to continue over various parts of India for next five days. Some places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, northeast, and central Indian along with the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will observe rain, reported India Meteorological Department (IMD). 

Parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Delhi NCR, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Goa among others observed heavy rainfall on Monday. While  several regions including Rajasthan, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh witnessed hailstorm.

Western Disturbance in the hills of north Indian led to the weather activity across the country. 

"A Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over Haryana & neighbourhood in lower to upper tropospheric levels. Another Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over south Pakistan in middle tropospheric levels. An Induced Cyclonic Circulation lies over northwest Rajasthan in lower tropospheric levels. A trough/wind discontinuity runs from west Vidarbha to South Interior Karnataka in lower tropospheric levels," said IMD in its weather bulletin.

According to IMD, the temperatures across the country for the next five days will remain below to near normal due to rainfall activity in several parts. While chances of heatwave conditions to prevail during the period is very low.

The northwestern region of India will see widespread rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning for the next five days. Hailstorms will be observed in states like Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh.

South Indian states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh (Coastal), Telangana, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over the period of the next five days.

Parts of Northeast India like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya will also receive heavy rainfall.
