'We Shall Tear Terrorists' Chests': Rajnath Singh In Srinagar

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh vowed to eliminate terrorists, regardless of location, following Pakistani shelling in J&K. He praised the soldiers' dedication and the execution of Operation Sindoor.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday, May 16, said that terrorists would not be spared, wherever they may be hiding. "We shall reach every terrorist hideout and tear the enemy's chest apart. We can go to any extent against terrorism," Rajnath Singh said.

Singh, who is in Srinagar to take stock of the situation, also inspected the Pakistani shells that were dropped in J&K. Some of the debris was displayed at the Badami Bagh Cantonment. Addressing the soldiers at the cantonment, Singh said: "I pay my tributes to the martyrdom of the soldiers and to the memory of the civilians in Pahalgam. I pray to God that the injured recover as soon as possible."

"The nation is proud of whatever you have done during Operation Sindoor. I am here to express my gratitude to you as a citizen of India," Singh added.

He said the armed forces acted with commendable sense and destroyed the enemy's hideouts with precision and restraint.

'Pakistan Has Deceived India'

Singh said that Pakistan has "deceived" India and must pay the price for it. "If terrorist activities continue, it will have to pay the price. The understanding that has been made between the two countries is based on the fact that no unholy act will be done from across the border. If this happens, the matter will go very far," he said.

"Terror and talks cannot go together. If Pakistan wants talks, it will have to discuss terrorism and PoK first," he added, echoing PM Narendra Modi. Calling Pakistan an "irresponsible nation", Singh said: "Operation Sindoor has shown that terrorists should not consider themselves safe anywhere. They are always in the crosshairs of the Indian Army. We do not care about their nuclear blackmail."
