Three Terrorists On Wanted List Shot Dead In Pulwama

Security forces killed three terrorists during a gunfight in Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama, following intelligence about militant presence.

Three Terrorists Shot Dead In Pulwama. All of them are reportedly local and among the 14 active militants whose list was released after the Pahalgam terror attack.

Based on specific intelligence input, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Awantipora on Thursday morning under Operation Nader. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops, and on being challenged, terrorists opened heavy fire, resulting in a fierce gunfight.

The terrorists were eliminated after hours of the shootout. The firefight erupted in Nader village, located in the Pulwama district, after intelligence inputs indicated the presence of terrorists in the area. Acting swiftly, a joint team comprising Army personnel, local police, and paramilitary forces cordoned off the location in the early hours of the day.

As the forces closed in, the situation escalated. The hidden terrorists opened fire in panic.

Success After Shopian Gunfight

The latest shootout comes just two days after a major success for security forces in Shopian district, where three terrorists affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Toiba were neutralised. That operation had marked a significant development in the Valley's security landscape, as officials had earlier stated only 14 local terrorists were known to be active before Tuesday's confrontation.

The string of encounters underscores the persistent threat in the region — and the relentless efforts by security agencies to dismantle militant networks operating in South Kashmir.

As the operation continues, residents of Tral remain on edge, hoping for peace but bracing for the uncertainties that often follow such high-stakes confrontations.
