WATCH: MDH Owner Mahashay Dharampal Gulati Breaks Down In Tears As He Pays Tribute To Sushma Swaraj

The 96-year-old owner of MDH, made it a point to be physically present at the last respects of the former union minister.

New Delhi: Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, the owner of MDH Spices broke down in tears as he paid his last respect to the deceased former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj during her last rites. A video tweeted by news agency ANI showed the 96-year-old man crying inconsolably as he sat down at the feet of the former Union Minister, her body wrapped in tricolor. Dressed in his trademark attire complete with red pagadi, the grief-struck owner of MDH spices made it a point to be present at Swaraj’s final rites and cried out with his arms spread towards the mortal remains of the BJP veteran. Mahashiyan Di Hatti (MDH) is one of the leading brands of spices in the country. The owner became the face of the company featuring in its advertisements. Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night after she suffered a cardiac arrest. The mortal remains of the former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj were consigned to flames on Wednesday at the Lodhi Road crematorium in New Delhi. Hundreds of people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and veteran party leader L K Advani bade her farewell. Swaraj, who also served as the Leader of Opposition and chief minister of Delhi, was given full state honours after which her body was cremated in the electric crematorium.
