New Delhi: The latest thing to come under the radar of social media brigade is ‘Paracetamol’- the most commonly used drug at households, which provides relief from fever and body-ache.
As per a message that is running rife on messaging apps like WhatsApp, a new version of the drug contains the most deadly virus of the world.
The message reads: Important warning- Be careful not to take the paracetamol that comes written P/500. It is a new, very white and shiny paracetamol, doctors prove to contain ‘Machupo’ virus, considered one of the most dangerous viruses in the world. And with high mortality rate. Please share this message, for all people and family.
ABP News investigated the claims of the message to find the truth.
On talking to a renowned orthopaedic surgeon Kaushal Mishra and the president of Indian Medical Association KK Agrawal we were told that Paracaetomal P 500 is the most commonly used and safest medicine manufactured by a licensed company.
The medicine is tested twice in laboratories before being let out for supply in market. The medicine is out in the market that means it has been tested thoroughly.
However as per a report published in the Hindu newspaper, the claims of virus present in Paracetamol spread widely in Indonesia and the health ministry of the country had to interfere to dispel away the fears of people.
